Blue Bell brand is an interesting footnote in mandolin history. Blue Bell instruments were built by a Mr. Osakabe at Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan in the 1970s, when bluegrass gained a strong foothold in that country. Blue Bell acoustic F-style mandolins would mysteriously show up in the Japanese dressing rooms of touring bluegrass musicians, left there in the hope of scoring some kind of endorsement deal, or even the appearance of one. Blue Bell electrics are rare birds. This one is in great shape.
